Fady T. Charbel, M.D., President and Founder
Dr. Charbel, head of the Department of Neurosurgery at UIC Medical, is president and chief scientific officer of VasSol, Inc. As both scientist and surgeon, Dr. Charbel saw a void in the pre-operative information available to surgeons; his solution-NOVA(originally called CANVAS). He has published, conducted seminars and lectured extensively on NOVA (/CANVAS) and related neurovascular topics. Dr. Charbel is the inventor of the Charbel Micro-FlowprobeT, which measures blood flow during surgery. He is also responsible for the invention of many surgical techniques, including C-FASTT (Charbel flow assisted surgical technique).

Steve Lamon, Chairman of Board
Steve graduated cum laude from The University of Wisconsin- Madison in 1969 with a double major in Computer Science and Mathematics, and completed an MBA in Finance at Wisconsin in 1971. After working on Wall Street for more than 30 years as a semiconductor analyst, an equity institutional salesman, and a Director of Merrill Capital Markets running the Chicago Institutional sales desk, Steve retired in January 2003. After serving on 2 privately held Corporate Boards in the Mutual Fund and Security Businesses and one publicly traded Corporate Board in Biotechnology, Steve is currently the Chairman of Board at VasSol Inc.

Stuart Swibel, C.P.A., M.B.A, Financial Officer
Stuart Swibel is a twenty-five year business veteran whose expertise in financial accounting/reporting, strategic planning, operations, auditing and business acquisition has helped a diversified group of private and Fortune 1000 businesses grow. Stuart is an Illinois C.P.A. who holds an MBA in Finance from DePaul University and a BA in Accounting from the University of Illinois, Chicago.

Rashid Riaz M.S, Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs
Rashid has the overall responsibility of managing the quality system at VasSol. Rashid has guided the company through FDA inspection, ISO 13485 certification and CE marking process. He is trained in “Six-Sigma” methodology and brings strong technical and documentation expertise from his former employment at Motorola.
